One dead, 18 injured as bus falls into gorge in Mandi district

Mandi: A tragic road accident occurred on Tuesday in the Patrighat area of Mandi district, where a private bus skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge, resulting in the death of one passenger and injuries to 18 others.

The bus was en route from Jahu to Mandi when the incident took place. Initial reports indicated that 17 people were injured, but the toll has now risen, with one fatality confirmed and three passengers reported to be in serious condition.

Rescue and relief operations are underway, with local authorities and emergency teams on site. The injured were quickly transported to the nearest hospital for treatment.

District administration officials are monitoring the situation. The cause of the accident is yet to be determined, though locals say the road is narrow and often risky, especially during the rainy season.
