33 HRTC routes disrupted, 18 buses stranded; loss in Mandi crosses ₹300 Crore
Mandi: Continuous heavy rainfall over the past several days has severely disrupted life in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district, with the Seraj region among the worst affected. Several roads have been completely washed away, cutting off many villages from the district headquarters. Residents are facing extreme difficulty in movement and essential supplies.
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri visited the flood-affected areas of Seraj on Friday to take stock of the situation. Addressing the media during his visit, he announced that transportation of people and goods via ropeway will remain completely free for the next 10 days to ease the burden on residents.
Landslides and washed-away roads have affected 33 Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) routes in the region, while 18 buses remain stranded at various locations. Officials stated that services on these routes will resume as soon as roads are restored.
