Chamba district observed the 11th International Yoga Day with a series of coordinated programs across various locations, including a notable high-altitude yoga session at 14,500 feet. The event was held at the fortified helipad in the Janajati Kshetra of Pangi, drawing attention to the district’s commitment to promoting wellness even in remote and challenging terrains.
According to DD Himachal, Yoga Day programs were successfully organized at all major locations in the district. These included sub-divisional and block headquarters, as well as prominent tourist and religious sites such as Khajjiar, Dalhousie, Bharmour’s Chaurasi Mata Mandir, and Bhalei Mata Temple. The widespread participation highlighted the growing public interest in adopting yoga as part of a healthy lifestyle.
The Ayush Department played a central role in organizing and coordinating the events across Chamba. In addition, the District Sainik Welfare Office also observed the day with an in-house yoga session, involving staff members and visiting citizens.
From the tribal belt of Pangi to the main administrative centers, the entire district engaged in celebrating International Yoga Day, reaffirming Chamba’s ongoing efforts to integrate yoga into daily life and promote physical and mental well-being among its people.
